When Science met God…

Segment Three

The making of me…

I am all that I don’t want!

Science was engrossed in his book. It was time to meet the Lord. Yet Science was tempted to continue and finish the book ‘Mister God this is Anna” by Fynn. Reluctantly Science shut the book even as God arrived. Chiding Science, the Lord asked – “What is so special about the book you read my child?” Still enthralled by the words in the book, science replied with a smile - “Lord! This is so poetic! I never realised that I could be written about in such a creative manner!” “Oh!” smiled the Lord. “But I thought the book was about...

What are you unlocking?

Science was feeling let down! So much progress and yet no application... Gently placing His hand on Science's shoulder the Father asked: God: What is troubling you my dear? Science: (Pointing at a man) This man is a scientist! He teaches young children the value of scientific thought. And here he is consulting an Astrologer? I am baffled my Lord! How can you know something and still behave as if you didn't know it? God: Relax my child! I am sure he well appreciates all that you have revealed. Science: Then why get into astrology? I mean, if he really...

The Thought virus

A sudden bright light blinded Science. Closing his eyes, he smiled. The Lord was about to arrive. That thought seemed to have a fragrance of delight prompting Science to gently whistle a tune even as his being filled with joy. There were several occasions when Science had felt thrilled and excited. But somehow, every meeting with the Lord seemed to  make him more alive to the possibilities... He was certainly looking forward to this meeting! God: (with a gentle smile) What! No questions? No inquisitive thoughts? Science: (broadening his smile) Hmmmm..... Father! I love you! God: (Laughing) Yeah you do!...

Where millennia coexist…

The plate fell down with a loud clatter. The wife merely looked up with a controlled calmness - a look every married man probably experiences from time to time. The husband was even more furious with her lack of expression. “I am not a goat to graze on grass and croutons! I need my meat!!” Years rolled by... The dramatics had stopped - to a certain degree. But the arguments remained. She was a strict vegetarian. He loved his animal foods. The daughter was growing up into a beautiful lady. Probably a man needs a mother, wife and daughter to...

Fate or Destiny?

We were filming at Angkor Wat for a documentary on the impact of Indian culture on South East Asian countries. The largest man made place of worship visible from outer space according to NASA, Angkor Wat was originally built as a temple for the Hindu God Vishnu in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II. Situated in Siem Reap province of Cambodia, Angkor Wat later became a Buddhist monastery and place of worship for the Buddha. Surrounded by a moat of 2.2 miles on all sides, this temple is designed to represent the mythical Mount Meru. The enormous bas relief...

The purpose of intelligence

Science was dejected.  There seemed to be no point in everything he had ever understood. There was always something more to know, something more to explore. He was beginning to feel redundant. Now God couldn’t allow that !!! God:  What is this new need to be attested my dear?  Why this overwhelming sense of failure? And that too when actually things are going right... Science: Father, the goal of all life is to lead men to you. That is possible only through devotion, love, dedication, forgiveness - all of which are emotions!! I deal with the intellect and how ever...

The winner effect

“#%*&^*@*&!!??” Science was stunned!! He had never... NEVER heard God swear! He froze and stood silently waiting for the Father to solve whatever it was that had brought such a reaction. Just a few nano-seconds must have passed. But to Science it sure felt like an epoch. Seeing the Father’s natural gentle smile, Science relaxed. All was fine with the world once again… God:  Won’t you ask me what made me react? Science: To be honest, No. I’m sure it is something so monumental and rare that I perhaps won’t even understand. God:  Monumental - yes. But rare - not...

Bio-magnetic identity

'Daddy! Why are you burying Bruno in the garden?' asked the little four year old. His sister of seven answered with superior knowledge “Because your pup is dead, stupid!” Smiling into the little one's eyes, his father replied 'He has gone visiting God!' Back at the dining table, the little one continued 'Mom, you said God is everywhere. Then why did Bruno have to go somewhere to visit him?' Exchanging a brief look with her husband, the mother replied 'Like you take a vacation from school to be home all the time, Bruno has taken a vacation to be with...
