Aspiring to be…

My dearest & most beloved KRISHNA,

What a blessing called life you have bestowed upon me…
How to even begin listing the bounties of existence…
Everywhere I can feel your guiding presence…

A miraculous body with a hundred trillion chemical reactions per second that work in unison to keep me alive… I see some shades of light & colour only to experience it as a reality within… Dancing waves make meaning to sounds… A mere whiff of fragrance & I know who is around… Drinking, moving, touching, watching – somehow everything outside connects to an inner world creating me…

No physical reality yet every thought that passes by shapes who I become… Such abstractions – these thoughts – yet they manifest in such perfect detail… they make it real… with spatial presence from an abstract imagination…

You gave me curiosity – abundantly I must say! You gave me intelligence to sift through the relevance of every experience… You made me ‘comprehend’ the ‘incomprehensible’ for if it were truly incomprehensible I wouldn’t even be aware of its comprehension…

You made me so much a part of this huge miraculous universe & yet ensured I remained absolutely unique & different… You make me feel with every blade of grass around & yet make me understand I am distinct from the child I bore in my womb… How do You even make this happen? This connection that is so real & yet full of freedom? This feeling that the world is mine & yet even I don’t belong to myself?

I simply stand in awe & silence – You engulf me…

But more than all this – the bounties you shower on me Krishna, more than anything else you have given me, I surrender & dissolve in you for blessing me with the aspiration to be as You have dreamt for me… Keep that aspiration in me alive, my beloved, & you will see – I will soon surprise Thee
