The minute you read the title of this article, I am sure most of you thought of a spa or a hot bath or may be a hammock with a book. But I mean it in a very different sense! Women tend to think ‘pampering’ is allowed only on special occasions. ‘Because you’re worth it’ is not just for beauty products. It applies to every moment of your life. So here are some very crucial ways to pamper yourself to health and fitness – because you are truly worth it!
Never compromise on your meal! Most women would rather eat what the rest of the family wants than to take the extra effort to cook what they want. Even if the labour comes from some one else, the idea of ‘so many varieties’ makes women want to curtail their needs. While this is by no means a plot for extravagance or a campaign to waste, nevertheless it is a propagation to ensure you eat what is good and healthy for you in every meal and not just what is least demanding. If it will take the extra ten minutes to cut those fruits you like – do it. If your diet doesn’t permit certain vegetables, go ahead and take those extra minutes to make what your body will accept. Pamper your self with the right choice of food.
Don’t negotiate on your workout time! Yes there always will be a demand for your time. Your children will need you just as you wear your shoes and your husband may look up with a question on his face on everything that needs your attention. But if you have to be healthy you have to exercise every day. And if you have to exercise every day, you have to impress upon your world that your exercise times are non-negotiable. Pamper yourself with your ‘me’ time – not just to go to the spa or read a book but to invest an hour everyday on your fitness. You owe it to yourself
Don’t be a dustbin! I have personally felt it so many times – knowing not just the costs but the effort that has gone in to the making of the meal, you end up wanting to consume it fully. But as my husband so rightly pointed it out to me long time back – as long as some one (meaning any one) eats the food and it is not thrown into the dustbin, it is not a waste. You don’t have to become the dustbin. Thankfully there are enough mouths to feed. You will not only help them but also help your self enormously. Pamper yourself by learning to stop when it is enough and not having to finish what is available.
Buy the best accessories! When it comes to our family we always want the best. But when it comes to ourselves, an innate debate happens – is it worth the money. Well, it isn’t about whether the product is worth the money alone. It is also about how you are worthy of the best. That shoe could save you an injury; those pants may make you want to extend your workout; that gym membership is going to be way cheaper than medical care in later years; that cycle may lend you the break from routine; that swimsuit may actually make you want to fit in! Don’t deprive yourself of the things that will help you be fit. Pamper yourself and get the best!
Invest your time on what is worthwhile! Recently in a conversation a dear friend said ‘if I do it I am damned and if I don’t do it too I am damned. Might as well do what I want and be damned!’ In an attempt to please everyone we tend waste time on things that don’t really matter. But it is your time! It does matter! Pamper yourself by investing your time on things that will keep you happy and healthy. Don’t waste it on things that drain you of energy!
Pamper yourself to health because you’re worth it !
